At Courtside, we aim to help you find your personal best as the court-side personnel. We are umpires focused, and specialise in umpiring courses and workshops for all - from public, schools to corporate.
We also provide umpires suitable for netball events (i.e. leagues, tournaments, carnivals, matches and/or friendly games).
Each session ranges from 2-3 hours, depending on the course content. Each session comprises of both theory and practical sessions where participants will get to experience umpiring at suitable level(s).
Courtside welcomes all aspiring netball players and umpires - there is a course for all. Below are the recommended age and playing experience for our respective courses:
Rules Introduction Course
Age: 10 years and above
Playing Experience: None needed
Practical Workshop
Age: 13 years and above
Playing Experience: at least 2 years
High Performance Course
Age: 13 years and above
Playing Experience: at least 2 years
Courtside recommend participants to have at least 2 years playing experience for Practical Workshop and High Performance courses. Those without experiences may sign up for Rules Introduction Course.

If you are new to netball, you can first sign up for our 'Rules Introduction Course'.
Part of the netball experience, is meeting and working with new people. Being an umpire also requires confidence. You will get a chance to interact with everyone in our small and cozy group setting, and we hope that you will make new friends!
The sessions will be conducted at a centralised location which you'd be advised upon registration.
For Rules Introduction Course, participants can wear comfortable sports attire and sport shoes preferred.Â
For High Performance Course and Practical Workshop, participants are required to wear our Courtside tee-shirt, with their own training bottom and sport shoes. All participants will receive one (1) tee-shirt at the start of the course.
Please also bring along your water bottle, towel and change of clothes (for at the end of the session).
Note: Event tee-shirt is not applicable to Courtside Workshops.
You can bring along your own whistles. Courtside also provide sales of whistles. Head over to Courtside (Shop) to look at our selection of whistles.
Important Note: Whistles are not required for the Rules Introduction Course
Upon completion of Rules Introduction Course, you can sign up for Netball Singapore Level 1 Umpiring accreditation course.
After completion of Netball Singapore Level 1 Umpiring accreditation course, you may wish to sign up for Courtside's Practical Workshop and/or High Performance course, where you will be exposed to more practical opportunities and mentoring. You can also be sure to look out for Courtside workshops that will be held regularly.Â
In the event of potential bad weather/dangerous conditions, we may consider re-scheduling the course/lesson/workshop. We will be in touch via email one (1) hour prior to the start should the conditions be dangerous.
Should you not hear from us, please expect the course/lesson/workshop to proceed as planned.
Our course/lesson/workshop will have first-aid trained personnel on site. There will also be a first aid kit and ice on site for minor injuries. Participants will also be guided through a proper warm up at the start of the physical practice sessions.
In the case of any injury, illness or emergency, the emergency contact that is provided upon registration will be contacted. Do ensure the participant is in good health to participate in the course/lesson/workshop.
Courtside Pte Ltd will not be held responsible or liable in any way for any claims, injuries, damages or liabilities resulting or arising directly or indirectly from the participation of the course/lesson/workshop.
Courtside aims to focus on quality coaching to ensure we are able to oversee all participants' progress.
As such, the minimum number for all courses is four (4), and the maximum differs for different courses and/or workshops.

Courses
In the event of injury or illness, you will be eligible to get a make up lesson upon receipt of a valid Medical Certificiate (MC) dated within 48 hours of the date of course/lesson. However, do note that make up lessons are subjected to availability.
Workshop
In the event of injury or illness, you will receive a 50% refund upon receipt of a valid Medical Certificate (MC) dated within 48 hours of the date of the workshop.
No, Courtside do not provide accreditation to qualify umpires. However, we provide a pathway through our courses for umpires to work towards qualification and high performance umpiring.Â

Courtside accepts e-payment via PayNow upon registration. Kindly refer to payment details at the course registration.
To secure a spot, all payments have to be made and received at least 3 days prior to the commencement of your registered course/workshop.
For offline payment methods, please get in touch with us directly.
Participation Cancellation
If cancellation occurs up to 14 days prior to the event start date, a full refund will be initiated.
If cancellation is made within 14 days, you will receive a 50% refund.
Unfortunately, in the case of cancellations 24 hours or later, no refund will be given.
Course/Workshop Cancellation
In the event of bad weather, dangerous conditions and the lack of a suitable indoor venue, Courtside may consider re-scheduling the course/workshop.
The decision will be managed on a case-by-case basis and notification will be made via email address provided upon registration.
Should Courtside cancel the course/workshop in the best interests of the participants, a 50% refund will be actioned.
